The Board of Deacons

The primary function of the Board of Deacons at First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood is set forth in scripture to provide sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ.

Mission Statement
To glorify God by providing compassionate care, support, resources, and fellowship to the members of our families, church, community, and world. To encourage individuals and their families in times of joy and sorrow as they seek God's healing power and grace through prayer, presence, counsel and concrete acts.

Shepherd Groups - Reaching the FPCK Family
The Board of Deacons reaches out to each member of First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood through Shepherd Groups. Currently Kingwood and the surrounding communities where our members live are divided geographically into 27 Shepherd Groups. In addition, there is one Shepherd Group just for FPCK college aged members.

Each Shepherd Group is numbered and is led by a Deacon and Shepherd Group Leader(s). Together they are a team that makes sure that all the people of the church are cared for and feel they belong to the family of Christ

Shepherd Groups develop a sense of community with other church members by socializing together and providing support to one another in times of need.
